Drunk WA Man Claims to be U.S. Assassin

In a bizarre DUI arrest in Kent, a suspected drunk driver reportedly handed police officers a can of beer and told the authorities that he was an assassin for the U.S. government, reports KOMO News.

The police received several 911 calls about a drunk driver in a 7-Eleven parking lot. When officers arrived, they found the suspect, 26-year-old Omar Medina, walking out of the store to his car while carrying a can of beer.

The authorities asked to see Medina's driver's license. To their surprise, the man allegedly told them that he did not need to cooperate and instead offered the officers his can of beer. Perhaps explaining his boldness, the suspect then told the officers that he was a government-hired assassin and had carried out several official executions.

But even government assassins cannot drive drunk and the police arrested Medina saying that he was "obviously intoxicated."

A background check revealed that Medina has a history of DUIs with three prior arrests. In addition, his license had been revoked at the time. He was charged with suspicion of felony drunk driving and driving with a suspended license.

Because Medina had such an extensive history of DUIs, he faces very serious penalties for the DUI charge. So even though he did not injure anyone and the circumstances of his arrest are amusing, the penalties he faces are no laughing matter.
