The accident occurred on 3rd Avenue Northwest early Sunday morning. An officer was driving a fully marked police vehicle when another car reportedly cut across and collided with the police car.

The driver was charged with suspicion of driving under the influence. It was not reported if she faces hit-and-run charges, but it appears that these charges will likely follow.
Driving under the influence is a very serious charge under normal circumstances. However, when you attempt to flee the scene following a hit-and-run, you could face criminal charges for that act as well as liability for any injury or property damage caused.
In these cases, you will want to work with an experienced drunk driving defense attorney.
Drivers accused of driving under the influence have a hard time getting fair treatment given that they are typically up against hardened prosecutors and police officers.
